Newmarket Pond

Newmarket park last weekend

When out for walks, I'm still looking for wild blossoms here north of Toronto.   But a sure sign of spring is the red-winged blackbird you can barely see at the base of the cattails.

I am linking to Rurality Blog Hop HERE.

  3. I found him too!

We all have something which says 'spring' to us; for me it's the spring peepers (wee tree frogs) singing away just as soon as it's warm enough.

  4. Soon that pond will be alive with creatures and the browns will turn green. And, the spring peepers will be singing away all night. Love that.

  6. I like the browns in this shot! There are lots of red wings at Bro O's pond. They are always scolding me. The male also hops around like his wing is broken to steer me away from the nest.
