Newmarket park last weekend
When out for walks, I'm still looking for wild blossoms here north of Toronto. But a sure sign of spring is the red-winged blackbird you can barely see at the base of the cattails.
I am linking to Rurality Blog Hop HERE.
I had to look carefully but I found him!
ReplyDeleteYou have a sharp eye for birds and photograph opportunities.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted!
ReplyDeleteI found him too!
ReplyDeleteWe all have something which says 'spring' to us; for me it's the spring peepers (wee tree frogs) singing away just as soon as it's warm enough.
Soon that pond will be alive with creatures and the browns will turn green. And, the spring peepers will be singing away all night. Love that.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of redwings out now!! The air is alive with birdsongs!
ReplyDeleteI like the browns in this shot! There are lots of red wings at Bro O's pond. They are always scolding me. The male also hops around like his wing is broken to steer me away from the nest.
ReplyDeleteA nice and peaceful pond. I haven't seen redwings but I assume they are about.
ReplyDeleteAnd hopefully it wasn't just a blackbird that lost its way. :-)
ReplyDeleteGosh, well spotted EG, you sure don't miss much :)
ReplyDeleteI spotted that blackbird after I read your words, I was first taken by the ripples on the pond.

Wonderful photo of muted shades.
ReplyDeleteI did not see the bird, I was to busy looking at the grasses. i do love grass of any kind.
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful life, outside and all around!
ReplyDeleteI like the brown winter grass.
ReplyDeleteDearest EG CameraGirl;

ReplyDeleteIt really has been a struggle to find spring this year. I'm amazed at how much like fall everything still is. Lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful photo! I found also the bird! :)
ReplyDeleteHearing them always means spring to me!
ReplyDeleteI see him ... and I bet you heard him first before you saw him! I'm glad you finally are getting some Spring.
ReplyDeleteI really like cattails. In fact, I have an arrangement of them in my house!
ReplyDelete=)
This would be a pretty picture even without the bird but I'm glad you spotted him. I love red-wings, they have such a neat call.
ReplyDeleteI hope you heard it sing!
ReplyDeleteYou would think they would be easy to spot, but I have a hard time seeing them. Nice shot.
