the pop of color in that garden area does distract from the fence and that is a pretty fence too...really like the way you comped the second shot..
I really like the shadow in the second shot but white pickets are my favourite.

Yes the flowers behind that fence are gorgeous. I also like the angle/perspective of the 2nd shot even though it's not as pretty as the first one.
