Serious photographer with serious lens
Last weekend my husband had an overnight from the hospital and since the weather was awesome, we went birding for a few hours. The guy above was also out looking for birds. I have no idea what he was looking at through that lens as mine isn't that strong. All I could see were mallards, Canada geese, one Great Blue Heron away off in the distance, and him. Luckily for me, he was casting a neat reflection.
Same pond, same day
FYI: The hospital released my husband on Wednesday after 99 1/2 days. I'm glad that's over!

Looks more like a canon (pun intended) than a lens. :-)
ReplyDeleteSerious piece of kit and it looks like he knows how to use it.

ReplyDeleteWell the 1/2 day was necessary to make it stay just under the 100 days! Enjoy life back at home, sir (and you too of course!)
Cool reflection shot! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear your husband is out of the hospital. Great news! The photographer almost looks like a hunter. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Hubby is home! Very nice reflections. I want one of those lenses. lol
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the great reflection he casts!!! And I love the cammo lens!
ReplyDeleteGlad your husband is out of the hospital, and life can approach normal again!!
That's an extremely impressive lens. It boggles my mind how much some invest in their hobby. But good for them if they can afford it.
ReplyDeleteA lovely pond! And good news about your husband!
ReplyDeleteLovely way to go birdwatching.
ReplyDeleteOh EG I am so glad for you and your husband. 99 days a such a long long time to be away. Keep being positive. YAY!!!!

YEAH your husband is home YEAH YEAH HUG HUG.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very serious photographer that camera looks heavier than I and I am sure I would need a wagon to pull it around:) Hug B

ReplyDeleteI am so glad your husband is hone!!!
ReplyDeleteThat lens is impressive!
Glad that your hubby's back home !
ReplyDeleteThe guy there was looking for birds, and you for a reflection . You are all happy !
I am so glad to hear your husband is feeling better and can go home. That is some serious photographer! I bet his reflection is much more interesting than what he is looking at! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your husband is home!!!!!! That lens would get too heavy for me on my hikes ;-)
ReplyDeleteHis lens cost more than my used car. Best to you both. Now you can get some normalcy back into your lives.
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDelete99 days is unbelievable. I am so happy for both of you that he is out now. hope all is well with him.
ReplyDeletei could not even carry that lens out there to put it on a tripod... love the reflections
Neat reflections. I want a lens like that!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that your husband is home!
That photographer, along with his reflection, makes for a more interesting photo than the close-up bird photos he might have been shooting with that huge lens. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, so happy to hear your husband is home. Great reflections, I can't imaging carrying that huge camera/lens around.
ReplyDeleteDarla
Wow! What a lens :) Great shots!
ReplyDeleteHe's in a whole different photography world from me! So happy to hear your good news, EG!

Wow! That's one SERIOUS lens! :-) Glad your husband is home and doing better. Nice photos.
ReplyDeleteTaking it very seriously indeed... great news about your husband!
ReplyDeleteThat is one intense photographer! I always love getting photos of the photographer. Glad to hear your hubby is home from the hospital.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear your husband has been released!! Yay. I know you both are so relieved.
ReplyDeleteI've seen lenses like that before and although I have lusted after them, once I see the strength needed to lug them around, realize that I couldn't do it. You got a fantastic reflection of him.
That is an impressive lens, but like Gail said,I would not be able to carry it around ,so,I'll let him have it. You got some good shots.Glad to hear your Hubby has been released.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news about your husband! We wish you both the very best in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love that first shot. He's an intense photographer. And the lens - well, that thing would ring up about $15-20K I think. Yesterday I read an article about photographers hurting themselves by assuming crazy positions to get their photos. This guy looks pretty comfy, though.
That is quite a lens the guy is using! I can't imagine lugging something like that around. The pond and reflection is really nice. I'm so happy that your husband got home after all that time! Blessings to you both! All the best. Pam
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I don't see how people carry around those huge lenses but I know a lot of birders do.
ReplyDeleteHe is really competent as well as his reflection... Excellent shot...
ReplyDeleteThat's a mental image of Brian King ... don't know anyone any more serious about photography than he is. I am very happy for you that your husband has been released ... I don't know and perhaps you haven't shared why he was in there, but I am assuming that it was for good purpose and things may get back to normal now that he is out. Best Wishes EGCG ...

Congratulations to having your hubby home, that is quite a stretch in a hospital, sleeping in his own bed has got to be heavenly! That is A camera, I wonder what he was shooting, this is what a young friend of mine (12) would call a talking photo :-) super capture.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you and your husband. I'll bet he is super happy to finally be home! You too! This guy with the fancy camera is pretty serious, isn't he? I wonder how far he can zoom it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that he's out :) As to that photo what a lens! I wish I'd had my camera out not too long ago. I looked out my kitchen window and there was a HUGE hawk..just sitting on my neighbors fence under the tree and little birds were going crazy / almost as if they were trying to attack it or something. It was certainly a full grown big hawk, not the smaller variety. Flew away when a car drove past.
ReplyDeleteThat was really convenient of him to be lying there so you could get a reflection.
ReplyDeleteA hunter in camouflage but he shoots with a camera. He made a great reflection.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear your husband is out of the hospital. Enjoy the weekend together.
Holy cow, that is an impressive lens!
ReplyDeleteThat is one impressive lens.

ReplyDeleteSo no more daily trips to South Lake.... very good news! Hugs to your husband!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a camera lens! Wonder what that baby cost.
