Some birds don't stick around long enough for me to take a decent shot, but thisfemale bluebird was a natural model waiting for me to go away so it could back into her nest.

Not as flashy as the males but very beautiful in her more subdued colours. We only very occasionally see them here in eastern Ontario. It's a real treat when we do, so thanks for the photos.
I so love when they pose:) Bluebirds are not only difficult to approach, they also are difficult for the camera and I don't know why! I have okay shots of the Western, but could do better with my Eastern and Mountain Bluebirds. All of them are stunners!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! My Gran used to say that bluebirds were loved by fairies, because bluebirds would let fairies hitch a ride.
