Old Log Barn

Hay bales north of Kirkfield

I was looking for scenic fields covered in hay bales when I happened to spy...

Log barn - the second floor on this end is likely an addition

this ramshackle barn in between two fields of hay. Abandoned and slowly being reclaimed by nature.

Loft on this end likely original

As seen from the old driveway

The driveway has not been abandoned but is being used by haying vehicles so I was able to get quite close before hving to  make my way through tall grass to get as close as I wanted to.

Too much grass

Actually, the grass was too thick and too tall for me to get the photos I wanted to get. I guess I'll have to go back!

In celebration of the old and wonderful "stuff", I  am connecting to Rubbish Tuesday HERE.

  29. How unusual! I don't think I have ever seen a barn made from logs! But maybe I need to pay more attention to what they are made of. This is a real shame, because it must be a rare find, and now no one is keeping it up.
