Young raccoon coming out of the brush and onto the path
This little guy (or gal) lives in a conservation area so as far as I know it isn't raiding anyone's garbage cans...yet.
Here the little ricky is looking for peanuts and birdseed.
But there are people around so the raccoon is a bit wary.
But wait! Is this a handout?
By gosh, it is!
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.
He (or she) is a beauty. Now I'm jealous because we don't have any over here!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be able to get that close to a raccoon during the day! Great shots, CameraGirl!
ReplyDeleteCool photos and closeups of the Raccoon..I am not sure if it is safe to handfed a wild animal like the raccoon.. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI just got entertained last night with a family of six of them in the backyard.
ReplyDeleteCute photos, He looks a bit skinny to me.
ReplyDeleteEG, thank you for linking up your Ricky post! Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable animal and amazing how used to people he is.
ReplyDeleteoh, dear, i'd not be feeding wild critters!
ReplyDeleteI have this fellow only in a zoo, never in the open like this.
ReplyDeleteNever seen a Raccoon in real life and would have loved to have it feed from my hand. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletehe is beautiful, i am sending our two UPS to you and you can let them live with Ricky....your photos are amazing
ReplyDeleteHand feed.
ReplyDeleteThat is a big challenge.
Quite cute, until he starts causing trouble!
ReplyDeleteWe wouldn't dream of hand-feeding a wild raccoon here in Texas. They carry rabies!
ReplyDeleteI have come across some bold and scary raccoons when visiting Vancouver's Stanley Park.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots of this little scavenger. I don't think I'd get my fingers that close to the thing...they can and do bite! This one must see a lot of people, though.
ReplyDeleteI am in the "keep my distance from wild animals" camp here but those are some great close up pictures! Those little hands!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the raccoon. Looks like he's used to humans already.
ReplyDeleteVery photogenic!
ReplyDeleteI was the animal control officer in our little town for a short while. I got bit by one removing it from a lady's garage. It died. I'm still here.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is so wondeful-
ReplyDeletevery expressiv!

He's adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat's both one trusting raccoon, and a foolish person to hand feed it. Great set of photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! Great shots!
ReplyDeleteA fine medley of photos to visually tell the story.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute but can be so destructive!
ReplyDeleteAre those people crazy? We should not be feeding wild animals... and especially not raccoons. THey are a nuisance!!
ReplyDeleteI love the first photo!
ReplyDeleteJust loved this!! :)
ReplyDeleteIs that YOU? Is he in your yard or driveway?? Excellent pictures! So he comes around often enough that you have named him...
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the little rascal.
ReplyDeleteSuch fun shots.
ReplyDeleteHe's a cute critter. He's apparently willing to give up his natural wariness for a treat. I hope that doesn't get him in trouble.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit, they are cute. But, won't hand feeding encourage this young one to hang around?
ReplyDeleteRaccoons are such interesting little creatures. They are so animated sometimes, that I almost expect them to start speaking.
ReplyDeleteWonderfull serie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little fella, and seemingly very tame too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday to you!
No handouts! Raccoons can fend for themselves just fine. Helping them to become dependent on humans is not doing them any favors.
ReplyDeleteWow! Someone fed him by hand! I'm amazed the critter let them do that! :-) he or she is sure a cutie! Great pictures.
