Ring-billed Gulls

Ring-billed gulls

Ring-billed gulls are very common in the Toronto area. They are fairly aggressive gulls and can be found just about anywhere where there's water...or French Fries.  They are excellent scavengers and especially love messy people who leave behind tasty tidbits. You may hate gulls but actually they do us a BIG favour cleaning up after us.

Diving for  Dollars  dinner

But their diets are not limited by what we leave behind.

A tasty invertebrate

Got one!  Sometimes gulls fight with each other over such findings but this day...

Gotta savour this!

food must have been plentiful so the lucky gull was able to eat in peace.

  15. I actually like gulls - I think they're smart and quite funny. Not good for them to eat French fries, though, but of course they do that when they find some. I have seen them fighting over potato chips at the beach.

  39. Fabulous shots, I find it so difficult to photograph birds in flight. That is a stunning shot of the dive. Sea gulls are such funny birds to watch. I don't see them much.
