Bond Head Light

NOT snow but ice created by splashing waves on the light and pier

Yep, overcast skies.  But we have had some sun here, although not the day I took these photos.
True, this light is getting a bit rusty...but at least it still works.

 A little further back

I didn't walk all the way down the pier to take this photo but zoomed in on it. Trust me, it was icy and very slippery. The only critters brave enough to walk on the ice were gulls!   (Can you see one there?) I was standing on concrete and, although it was windy and cold, I was on firm ground. It snowed last night (and is still snowing today) so I'm sure it looks a bit different now.

 New snow on coneflowers

Anyone else thinking "Coneheads" right now?

  7. I love the color of this light!! And I have never seen anything like this, it is truly amazing. But the ice is on the wrong side! The side way from the waves! The side nearest the water is bare!! Hmmm, maybe this is an illusion because we can't really see the other side. In any case, it is truly spectacular.
