Lake Simcoe - Private

 Stairway down to the Lake's edge

Some of the land on the at the edge of Lake Simcoe is quite a bit higher than the lake. This photo was taken on Tuesday the 14th. Yes, there's still ice on the lake.

Private, so I did not walk down

FYI: The owner's house is on the other side of the road.

    I don't see any No Trespassing sign. I still would have done what you did and show respect.

    Brrr, we are way ahead of you on Spring. "Private" signs always make wonder but I understand how the owners feel.

    This disparity between the water's edge and the land occurs frequently along our Atlantic coast. And there are lots of steps with signs just like this. I think you could have safely ignored it. If someone caught you, you just say "What sign?"

    Looks like a nice place to live--a person could make a lot of memories fishing on that lake in the summer.

    our river is full of these private docks, some with signs, but most with a metal gate .. no river access at all for our city, and they have signs no fishing. us poor folks can't get to the river at all unless we go to one of 4 boat ramps with a boat.. one of my pet peeves since my hubby would love to fish in that river from the banks...

    Beautiful shots of this fence and the lake. The ice on the lake is beautiful, though I am sure you will be happy when it is gone. I am guessing that Spring is just getting a foot hold where you are. So much to look forward to :)

    A truly lovely entry way to the water, for them! We have a few places with such signs too, but if you wander around far enough you can usually find a public opening and of course we use it!

    What a gorgeous view..how much longer before the ice melts? Is it normal for people to own stairs down to the beach- I guess the road cuts through their property? I would be wanting to get on the beach!!

    A great shot and it sure looks icy cold there! Brrrrr.......we have snow and cold here today and tomorrow. I am so done with winter but it apparently is not done with us. I understand does private property signs. But it would be fun to know what's back there.! ENjoy your weekend.

    Lovely. My ex-brother-in-law's family has a cabin on a lake. They eventually built a long stairway down to the cabin.
