Bumblebees and a Butterfly

 Monarch on Buddleia

YAY! Yesterday I saw my first Monarch of the year on the Buddleia outside my kitchen door. Finally!
 Half-black Bumblebee on Japanese anemone

Thanks to Michelle at Rambling Woods who sent me the link to a poster of bumblebees found in Ontario, I am now trying to identify the bumblebees I take photos of.  Thanks Michelle!

  16. I am glad you got to see a Monarch at last...wonderful photo of it. I honestly have been thinking I have seen more of them this year than I have in past years. And I don't think I have been out and about that much.

  32. Yea for the monarch! It looks possible that the overwintering population will be bigger this year than last.. depending on the weather.. I am so glad that the poster helped. I have to go make sure I saved it as I am sure to have the same bees and it is so fun to put a name to something.. Michelle
