Monday is Canadian Thanksgiving (although my family is celebrating on Sunday) so Tom Turkey wants to wish all my Canadian readers a happy Thanksgiving weekend. Tom Turkey is not very worried as he is a main attraction at a Muskoka cranberry marsh. He reasons the owners there still need him. BUT...
UH-OH!
he hasn't thought very far ahead. What about Christmas dinner?
Happy Thanksgiving! He's sure to be one good size roaster for Christmas! I don't think he'd fit in my oven!

Poor turkeys. Anvilcloud's comment makes me wonder if wild turkeys are safe. Not if they live in Texas or New Mexico or Arizona (and I"m sure other places). Turkey season opens for these big birds very shortly. My father brought home a wild turkey for Thanksgiving dinner many, many times!
ReplyDeleteAh, after looking at him my wrinkles didn't look half as bad!! Love him! Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving!! Enjoy!! Thank you for the fun and the beauty you bring to every day!!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I come across wild turkeys down this way. Especially when the toms are showing off for the ladies.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving.

It's a great weekend for Thanksgiving! Could you ask for better fall weather? That old Tom better watch out and maybe slim down and cut back on the grain if he wants to live to see another fall. He looks nice and plump right now ;)

What wonderful detail you've captured!!
ReplyDeleteGobble, gobble
i think that trim is beautiful! I love old wooden anything just about. That turkey may want to diet a bit lol to escape the knife.
