On the right, you see two Girl Guides (similar to American Girl Scouts) - depicted as they looked in the 1920s - caring for an injured puppy. On the left you see the cover of the organization's magazine. Girl Guides of Canada sponsored the painting of this mural painted on the side of business on the main street in the centre of the Town of Midland. Sadly there's a chip in the mural under the puppy's chin.
Some of you may remember this mural from 2011 when my then camera photographed the mural in two parts. My now camera has a wide-angle lens.
I am joining Monday Mural HERE
It's a nice mural. I also appreciated the info on Girl Guides as I did not know that. I like their hats, too. Too bad about the chip. I hope that can be repaired.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mural! I was a Girl Scout, in my younger years!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, enjoy your new week ahead!
Great mural. that shot would have done for 'kindness' for the Scavenger Hunt Sunday this week.
ReplyDeleteI love to blunder upon a mural. Makes a hike that more rewarding.
ReplyDelete:O)
A wonderful mural indeed and a great capture, as always!! And, yep, I do love their hats!! Hope you have a beautiful day!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeletethis is a really nice mural, hope they can touch up that chip.. and i like both this with the wide angle and the one that you got only parts of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat mural. Now that they've repaired his sore paw, hopefully someone will fix that chipped chin. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the mural. Thank god for wide angle lenses! :)

Quite a colourful mural. The period uniforms are new to me.
ReplyDeleteAs a long-time Girl Scout and then a leader for my daughter's troop, I totally appreciate this mural!
ReplyDeleteLovely vintage painting. I clicked to see your earlier version. It is nice too but it's lovely to have a camera that can take the wide angle. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMy two daughters, now in their 40s, still get together with Girl Guilds from Stoney Creek who they met years ago. Makes a father proud!
ReplyDeleteWe need a Girl Guide artist now to fill in the chip.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful on so many levels.

really cute.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful mural.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful mural. I was a Brownie and a Girl Guide and even have my uniforms and the little booklets listing the badges I earned. ;)
ReplyDeleteNice mural, nicely photographed. Too bad about the chip. I'm considering asking for a wide angle lens for the upcoming Holiday just for such work.
ReplyDeleteIt looks a little faded from the 2011 version. I guess the chin chip isn't the only hit it's taken over time. Nice mural! I hope it continues to be cared for.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great mural! Nice find!
ReplyDeleteIt's a super mural EG, thank goodness for the wide angle lens :)
ReplyDeleteA more clearly world then but not necessary better. Nice mural indeed.
ReplyDeleteNice upgrade!!!
ReplyDeleteHooray for the wide angle. Someone needs to repair that chip.
ReplyDeleteNice mural. Your camera did a good job.

Great shot. Not a fan of my wide angle lens, maybe I should think about taking it out.
ReplyDeleteI like the 'then' person and the 'now' person, who shares so many beautiful views with all of us - period!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the wide-angle lens!
Great capture, Tina! This one especially lovely given the kindness that oozes through the act portrayed in the mural.
Brava!
Have a Super Day!!
Peace :)
Doesn't it look amazing and I'm sure any damage will be repaired.
ReplyDeleteMurals add such a nice touch.
