Whitby Harbour on Lake Ontario - December 4th
Canada Geese and Mute Swans still swimming in the harbour and have not left for deeper water where water rarely freezes in Lake Ontario (except at the edges).
Balmy weather for fishing on Lake Simcoe - December 5th
No sign of ice yet. I'm thinking the ice-fishing enthusiasts are not happy about this!
I am linking to NATURE NOTES.
Seems like warmer weather is everywhere right now!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Michelle. It's been warmer here than usual.
ReplyDeleteYes it has been warmer than usual here too, even for north Florida!
ReplyDeleteWater fowl are my closest neighbors now. Never boring!

We're having lots of rain and gray skies, but it's not cold!!! Pretty amazing for the northwest in December!!! Hope you have a great week! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a heckuva El Nino year so far.
ReplyDeleteThese will be the good old days come February.
ReplyDeleteThe warmth of recent days make me happy et I wonder what it portends for our futures.?
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could ever be brave enough to ice fish...every time I see people out on the ice I think about how deep the water is under the ice.
ReplyDeleteWe have less sunny days. We have more gray skies and rain. The weather is sometimes hot but most time cooler because of the rain. Have a beautiful day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a ballet on ice (without the ice) :-)

It was a little cold for a few days here, but the temps have gone back up again. I think it will be 10 or 11c today. Hardly winter! I do miss Lake Otario though, so it's nice to see some shots of it here.
ReplyDeleteI am happy with this out of wack weather. Bring it on.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, I love the shot with the swans and geese. I am loving this milder weather. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine fishing with having to cut through the ice this time of year! Nice shooting!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure those ice fishermen won't have to wait too much longer. Although the weather has probably been nice for the waterfowl.
ReplyDeleteThe same is the case here, where the Canal has yet to freeze over.
ReplyDeletei think all of us are going to have a wet and warmer winter than normal. it is only 2 weeks until Christmas and it is still warm here
ReplyDeleteI hope the animals that should be hibernating won't wake up too soon... I am glad to hear that there are open places on the lake as Erie freezes over pretty much totally here I think..Michelle
ReplyDeleteI was saying this morning, I don't remember it ever being so mild when my birthday arrived (Dec 10), and though I should be grateful for double digit weather, it scares me. There should be ice in Lake Ontario already, not double digits.
