Little Red

UH-OH! CameraGirl saw me!

Little Red just sneaked up the back of the fence and is now heading down.

Hurry!!

Got it!!

I was waiting for the local red-bellied woodpecker to arrive, trying to entice it with peanuts in the shell.  But this little scamp...

YUM! Got any more?

wanted peanuts too...and would not go away no matter how many peanuts it stole and ate!

I am linking to  Saturday Critters HERE.

  7. What a super series. You are so lucky that Little Red did not scoot away before you could get these great shots. I adore the little fellows, but they wreak havoc in my yard. I am changing my feeders one by one to the ones that keep them out and then putting out goodies for them. Hope it works.

  13. Whenever I see one of these pesky little critters, I think of this poem:

    Like a small grey
    coffee-pot,
    sits the squirrel.
    He is not

    all he should be,
    kills by dozens
    trees, and eats
    his red-brown cousins.

    The keeper on the
    other hand,
    who shot him, is
    a Christian, and

    loves his enemies,
    which shows
    the squirrel was not
    one of those.

  14. They are so cute. Almost cuter...watching my little Pit Bull lay in front of the slider watching them, so intently. Nothing better in the world to chase, for her. If they would just hang around and play, they'd have a new play mate.

  20. This is a cute squirrel. Our squirrels (except for the Foxtails) don't have such bushy tails and look more like the rodents they are! :)

  23. Squirrels are such unapologetic opportunists.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, yes!! I have one of these that comes to visit every day and sits on my doorstep -- literally -- to look inside and get my attention and will continue ti sit there until I put out some peanuts!! I think Yogi is right!! Opportunists indeed!! Fun shots for the day though -- maybe they think they should be paid for their photographs!!

  33. So adorable! For some reason, I haven't seen many squirrels this winter.

  34. Hahaha, at least you got some really cute shots to show for the adventure.

  35. It's not a woodpecker but you caught it beautifully. The light is wonderful and your shots do its thick, beautiful fur justice. It is a cutie.
