Sports/ Photo Hunter

The kids in blue vs the kids in white

This week's Photo Hunter challenge: sports.

Earlier this year East Gwillimbury hosted a soccer tournament. What? You missed it? Here's one of the highlights.

Actually I had several much better shots but last weekend I accidentally deleted most of the photos I had taken between May and early September of this year. Last night I purchased an external hard drive for storing my photos so I'm hoping I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER lose so many photos like that again!

It has happened to me more than once. I purchased an external drive, too.

Good move. I'm in the market for a second external hard drive, because I live in fear something will happen to my first one, which holds the only copy of many of my photos.

Great (mild) action shot - more like a slice of life of kids.

My sympathies! Fat FInger Delete, the kids call it!
However, as I still sift through my late mother's photos (e.g., her dead fiance, WW 2), I wonder who will want them later?!!!

Sorry that you lost some photos, EG. Glad you now have an external drive. We have one ---and hopefully because of that we won't ever lose anything.

Your soccer picture is cute. One of my best friends is a referee for soccer. She loves doing the little girls' games. They are just so cute.

We are on our way to Hendersonville today to check on G's parents. Then we have company coming tomorrow. Fun Fun!!!!

Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy

I almost lost a bunch, but thank God they went to the trash bin first and I could restore them. I was so sick at heart till I found that.

Cute kids. My 3 kids all played soccer, so I spent a lot of time on field sidelines.
Too bad about losing the photos. I've had that experience, too.

My friend in IT told me that you should back up in at least three locations. We are getting there. Heartbreaking to lose so many photos. I have a soccer theme too. Great photo.

That's awful, EG! Did you try to find them in your recycle bin...they should still be there unless it was already full, but even so it would have knocked out older stuff and kept the newer photos.

Like most folks, I've lost photos, too. So now, when I download a set of photographs, I copy them immediately to another internal hard drive, then to an external hard drive and shortly thereafter to a CD/DVD.

I like this shot a lot...it is not only very colorful but captures well, I think the excitement and energy of the moment!

That's a great shot for the theme. Sorry about the loss of photographs. That's terrible.

Sorry to hear about your accidentally deleting photos -- nightmare! Love soccer -- playing (well, years ago!) and watching it!

I was sorry to hear about your lost pictures. As Betsy said, we each have an external hard disk and a program to automatically back up everything on our computers.

I feel sorry that you lost the photographs.

Sorry for your loss. I store on external, my comp (which is getting sooo slow I need a 2nd drive), and I upload the best to flickr so they are stored virtually.

It's a good pic you have left; the kids look so little

Yikes, been there, done that - two years worth of my first digital pictures. We learn our lessons too late.

I find it odd to see "Lowes" on soccer uniforms in Canada. I know my family first refused to shop at Home Depot(why wouldn't you shop at Canadian Tire?) and then Costco. So now Lowes has crossed the border. Sort of sad.

We hate the American invasion, but we open the door wide open and welcome them in.

I just love seeing little ones rushing around in their over-size kit, like little ants swarming after the ball.

So sorry to hear about your deletion misfortune. I live in fear...

It happened to me many times when my computer was not working everything was gone. Anyway, like your sports shot...

That is such a pity. This picture is fantastic. I love all the attitude from the players. Well, at least you have an external drive now.

Great shot. The hands on the hips seems typical of kids playing soccer at this age.
