Bear Bench/ Yard Art

Little people can sit on this  bench and commune with the bears

My husband  and I took a road trip to Peterborough (Ontario) last weekend  and made  several stops along the way, the hubster to take in garage  sales and I  to take photos. Well, one garage sale host, Mark Andrews,  turned out to  be a chainsaw sculptor who graciously allowed me to take  photos of his  work.

I think this bench is wonderful! (The whirlygig on the left is NOT part of the bench, although I admit it sure does look like it.)

To see more of Mark's sculptures, click on Kreative Kindling.

I love this bench. It is very clever and I am with you---the whirlygig looks like it belongs. Just what a cub would play with.
VP at Livorno Daily blog has a bench blog and would love this one. MB

I love this! After Hurricane Ike several years ago, thousands of live oak tress were killed on Galveston Island. Many homeowners paid to have the remains turned into yard art (and still are). Some really good stuff. I'll have to see if I can find a link.

Chainsaw artists amaze me. How can they do that? Our daughter in Colorado is into bears - she would absolutely die for this one!

It's a neat bench for sure, so different!
Recalling that lovely story of bears and golden-haired little girl "Mommy where is my porridge ( or milk)" LOL
Cute!

You are going to get me in trouble with my hubster when I start filling the yard with all that stuff to mow around!

I have always wanted to try chainsaw sculpting but never have.

Very creative to have turned the wood into that lovely piece of bench :)
I'm sure both adults and children adore it!

The bench is so neat! There are a couple places around here that have chainsaw art in their yards, those artists are amazing!

Thank you for sharing the photo of the cute bear bench.
Chainsaw artists are scarse around here. We usually have to wait for a county fair to find one.
