Cottage Country Ontario/ Nature Notes

Seen last weekend beside  Rosseau River near Rosseau, Ontario

Starting with the largest square: ebony jewelwing damselfly, Steeplebush (Spirea tomentosa), wild rose
hips, bushy aster (Aster dumosus), cardinal flower (Lobelia cardinalis), and mushrooms.

I'm always surprised at how many lovely things you discover along the roadside. Maybe it's Ontario or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough!

Re your comment on flutterbys...perhaps what you get are our butterflies who travel from Florida to Ontario ... that could be a rough trip, leaving them all tattered!
