Cobourg Harbour/ Sky Watch

Eerie winter light over Cobourg Harbour, Lake Ontario

It would have been almost sunset, if the clouds had parted even the teensiest of bits. But the sky was pretty much overcast. Ducks in the foreground (mallards) were in near to shore and Canada geese were further out in the harbour with the gulls.

The water looks so clear... and cold. Love that speck of red, makes the whole picture so vibrant.

Lovely scene, even if I can feel the cold :-)

It looks like open sea, not really something we see in our (much smaller) lakes!

Beautiful sky, beautiful water.

In Oregon we sometimes stay in a little village called "Coburg" and your harbor's name made me think of it. Yours is prettier, the extra o makes all the difference ;>)

Ice on the sea?
Actually, I'm not even sure that the water is salt, sweet or bracken?
Lovely blue image.

Cobourg harbour is an old industrail harbour with grand concrete wharfs. You got a great photo of it, but you're a little out of EG aren't you?

That's a beautiful spot. I always feel a little sorry for ducks and geese when I see them standing on ice in the winter but they seem to be pretty tough.

Beautiful. The bit of red adds a bit of bounce to the scenery.

Beautiful capture - I live over a thousand miles from the sea.

Raw, rugged, desolate, almost overpowering shot! I assume this is lake Ontario, is it not? Such a beautiful lake, reminds me of the Atlantic.

I feel chilled. Why is that? It's 55 degrees here!

Hmmm...this, I think, would be a photo for a winter month, right?

It's an exciting shot with a point of view and yet lots of interesting things going on...the ducks and geese in the frigid water, for example.

The light is haunting, almost.

Good job!

Tranquil and beauty in the cold weather. Blue and lacking in light but yet so vibrant. The seas are so calm. It looks like a photo shot in the morning or dawn.

Happy Skywatch Friday and have a nice day. May you have a great weekend ahead.

I love this world of shades of blue. The sea and the sky merges into one: faint purplish color tells it is the sky.
