July Garden/Nature Notes

Samplings from my garden in late July

There are many red blossoms and a few blue in my gardens right now.

Largest square: monarch sipping nectar from garden phlox (Phlox paniculata). coleus (an annual),  firetail (Persicaria amplexicaulis 'firetail'), red daylily,  bee on oops! a plant I cannot remember its name, and blue balloon flower (Platicondon grandiflorus).

Your garden is so bright! I am remembering back to some of your nature notes from late fall or winter - browns and whites. I love the balloon flower - what a color.

Beautiful garden mosaic. I'm envious that you still have flowers this late in the summer - actually, it's not all that late. There's still two brutal months of summer left for us!

You must be enjoying your beautiful garden. I like blue flowers, a bit of a surprise among the other colors.

You have a green green thumb, beautiful flowers & shots! (I'm learning a lot about plant names just from your posts :)

You have a fantastic garden and must have a green thumb. Every time I plant something I hear laughter in the background. Can't figure it out. A message, perhaps?

I am sorry but of course I don't know the name of that plant..I think you have gotten some rain, now please send it our way. So nice to see a monarch as I have only 4 cats munching away upstairs this year..slow year...Michelle

Gorgeous collage of blooms EG, these flowers remind me of plants that you might find in an English cottage garden.
