Ranger Rick?/Camera Critters

 Baby raccoon

This is one of four babies waiting for mama to return from foraging eating peanuts being given her by visitors to the conservation area where these critters liive.

 All four babies

The light was bad and the little raccoons would not stay still, so the photo is a bit fuzzy. But you can see there are four.

Mama must have told them to stay in the tree because they did. But they were ALL OVER the tree - practicing their up-and-down skills, I guess.

In this case the raccoon youngsters are obeying their mother much more than human youngsters do.

they do become quite skilled at tree climbing - and this is why!

They are so cute, but trouble!!!
Love your photos!

Right now they are very appealing and attractive, but when they get older they're not so much fun and can be a furry heap of trouble!

Definitely cute but definitely a pain in the neck if you get one on your property!

either mama left them in the tree to protect them OR she was hogging all the peanuts for herself. LOL so cute

Looks like something has been busy trying to get into that birdhouse.

They are indeed cute -- but one mama raccoon killed many of our birds this spring and summer! Such is nature!

These give new meaning to the term, "rascal." But got to admit they are cute. Just keep 'em out of my garbage! :-)

This is a great photo sequence. The babies are cute, even if they are rambunctious.

Cute little bandits. I have not seen them in these parts, but we have a skunk sometimes. Makes me worry to go out the back door at night. I do not want to scare him...but we can tell when he is near...smell.

They sure are cute, but one of their family likes to dig up my tomato plants. I'm getting a little tired of replanting and one of them didn't live through the ordeal. Nice find!
