Therapy Dog

Digger, an Australian  Cattle Dog

Four-year-old Digger graduated last Sunday and is now officially a Saint John Ambulance Therapy Dog.

Since 1992, four-legged Saint John Ambulance volunteers have visited hospitals, retirement residences, and long-term and short-term care facilities across Canada to improve the quality of life for patients - reducing stress, lowering blood pressure, distracting the pain ridden.

Congratulations, Digger!

I am linking with Saturday Critters HERE.

Dogs (more often their owners) often get a bad press so it's good to remind everyone the vary positive things they provide. Digger is a great name for an Australian dog!

Go Digger! We had, at one time, thought to have our Golden trained as a therapy dog, but never got around to it and now she's gone. These therapy dogs are wonderful critters and help so many people. Love Digger's eye patch!

Good Jog, Digger. My friend and neighbor trains dogs for the St. Francis Foundation. She trains two at a time. How she does it, I do not know. It is so time consuming.
