Tradescancia (aka spiderwort)

Tradescancia like the soil and light in my gardens, and bees like my Tradescancia!

I'm pretty sure we don't have any green bees over here. An interesting little creature beautifully captured by your lens.

that is one chubby bee... guess he gets all the sweet juice and pollen he needs from your pretty flowers

He is very green, isn't he? Nice contrast with the purple petals.

Wonderful shot, EG! I need some bees to come and pollinate my cucumbers - lots of flowers but hardly any fruit yet.

I found a group of these bees, apparently Sweat Bees, in one of my daylilies recently, I hadn't noticed them before. The metallic green is very interesting.

I lost most of my spiderworts over the winter. They are such pretty flowers. That is one really green bee.
