Shrub Rose

Rosa Glauca shrub rose

I am a BIG fan of this rose and wish it bloomed much longer in my garden than it does.  Although it's a cultivated shrub, I love its simple, wild look. The leaves are a lovely grey-green, the stems reddish brown and the flowers just a bit more than an inch (perhaps an inch and a half) across. In a few weeks the bush will bear orangy red hips.

The brambly wild pink rose is one of my favorites, too, and I often see it by the side of roads along my path. It truly does offer something nice to look at year round.

Lovely photo! It has kept its "wild" appearance very well. It looks much batter than many on the more cultivated ones.

And here I thought all roses were wild! Maybe it was just the one I knew! :) This is a wonderful flower and it does have kind of a "wild" look to it.

Re your comment about gators: You needn't worry. They don't usually bother humans unless they decide you're good to eat and they only eat once a month.

It is sweet indeed. Does it smell as prettily as it looks?

What I like about them is how little care they require to produce all those lovely blooms.
