Iron Fence and Shadows

 Shadows on snow

You've gotta admit that one good thing about snow is that when the sun shines shadows are crisp.

Looks sorta like plaid, don't you agree?

I am linking to Shadow Shot Sunday 2 HERE.

FYI City Daily Photo bloggers:  The  February 1st theme - If you had to leave forever the city from where you usually post, what would you miss most?

I especially like the patterns in that first photo, stepping down as they recede into the background.

You are right about the crispness. I am amazed that no creatures have disturbed the snow yet.

Ah, so crisp and beautiful and, yes, nothing better for that than a snowy background!! Terrific captures for the day -- as always and, as always, I love yours!! Hope your weekend is off to a great start!! Enjoy!!

No sunshine to make crisp shadows today (Saturday) so I'm glad you snapped these before the clouds rolled in!

The light was right and you were right there to get those shadows which make very nice patterns. I should tell you, though, I get all wrought up over iron fences. :)

the sunlight and your camera turns a simple beautiful fence into a work of ART and yes, it does look like plaid

A strong southerly winter sun allows the snow to be a beautiful canvas for shadowy art. A lovely capture, and although not a tartan, a plaid motif is certainly there!

It's as if the shadows are in jail!

The shadows are just as tight and tidy as the fence itself. They almost seem blue too for some reason (the shadows.

I love the patterns in this second image, simple and stark against the white.

Yep, very crisp. And that last one...I would love to see what it would look like if you cropped it till only fence and shadow showed. Talking about the last shot...it is just really interesting. And would make a hard jigsaw puzzle.

Fine shadow patterns. Love the contrast in the first photo of misty shape and sharp lines.
