Mink

Mink on some Lake Simcoe rocks

Serendipity at work, the mink and I were in the same place at the same time. Actually, my husband saw it first.

Wondering what that clicking sound was

It posed for my camera for a little while...

Leaving the scene

then headed for cover, a hole between rocks.

I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Seems like he’s very sensitive to sounds... I think the mink is a species closely associate with river otter as it resembles the same.

These are fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen a mink, I don't think. Other than around a woman's neck.

WOW!!!! He is CUTE! But he needs to hide all the time so he does not turn into a coat. Are there restrictions on mink hunting now? Thanks to you and your husband for a rare treat today!

I am surprised you were able to get these intimate portraits of a wild mink. These animals are usually quite shy. That first image is stunning.

The only wild one I have seen was running about the ferry docks while I was waiting to go to the Toronto Islands. He was an urban mink foraging for food! ;-)

what a cutie! I'm glad that I never owned a mink coat.

Nice shots.

These were a feral pest back in the UK when I was a kid - not a popular animal.

Seeing a wild one, that would be different.

What a beautiful animal. I am no member of PETA but the mink's coat looks better on him than anybody else.

Great photos! I've never seen a live mink. It's so cute. Seems horrible that my mom's generation proudly sported their mink stoles and coats...
