Shrub Rose

Rosa Glauca shrub rose

I am a BIG fan of this rose and wish it bloomed much longer in my garden than it does.  Although it's a cultivated shrub, I love its simple, wild look. The leaves are a lovely grey-green, the stems reddish brown and the flowers just a bit more than an inch (perhaps an inch and a half) across. In a few weeks the bush will bear orangy red hips.

  14. The brambly wild pink rose is one of my favorites, too, and I often see it by the side of roads along my path. It truly does offer something nice to look at year round.

  20. And here I thought all roses were wild! Maybe it was just the one I knew! :) This is a wonderful flower and it does have kind of a "wild" look to it.

Re your comment about gators: You needn't worry. They don't usually bother humans unless they decide you're good to eat and they only eat once a month.
