Firehouse Rafters

 Mount Albert firehouse rebuild

Some of you may remember that in February 2014 the Mount Albert Firehouse burned down. It's in the process of being rebuilt. This photo was taken last fall.

I am intrigued by the angles and shapes the boards make as they cross each other. And I also like the shadows.

 Black and white version

If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterizes children before they are deformed by adult society.

Another version (sorry, I cannot remember what I did)

A closeup, very closeup

  4. Oh Boy, these are stunning. I love what you did with this and it doesn't at all surprise me that you would see art in rafters ... Very creative.

  6. I like the way you have played with the shot. I like the B & W image and the next one.

  7. What a great image for creating an abstract. The straight lines and geometric shapes hold the design together and the overlapping created more interesting shapes. I like them all, but I'n partial to the B&W this time, even though I usually go for color.

  13. I would have taken a picture from that building also :)
I prefer the black & white version, there my eyes can follow the lines better without looking at the beautiful colour of the fresh wood :))

  19. It is all very interesting. And I love that you can't remember what you did. I can never remember everything I did because I end up trying a bunch of different things and sometimes combining them.
