Fences on a farm east of where I live
This photo was taken quite a while ago with a point-and-shoot camera that I don't think I own anymore. I just found this shot in my archives and although the photo isn't very clear I do like the lines the fencing makes. FYI: We have more snow than this now.
A few weeks ago, I saw a list of fill-ins on Rose's blog and filled in blanks 1 through 5 here. This week I have continued with 6 to 10:
A few weeks ago, I saw a list of fill-ins on Rose's blog and filled in blanks 1 through 5 here. This week I have continued with 6 to 10:
6. If I were a direction I’d be north where indirect light (in the Northern Hemisphere) is soft and usually flattering.
7. If I were a piece of furniture I’d be either a desk or a bookcase. It’s hard to choose. A desk because ever since I was a very little kid I have loved paper, pencils, pens, crayons.... A bookcase because I love to read.
8. If I were a liquid I’d be coffee in the morning and tea for the rest of the day.
9. If I were a gemstone I’d be a garnet because they are red...but not flashy. I like that.
10. If I were a tree I’d be a larch, a deciduous conifer with fine, delicate needles. They are gorgeous in spring, summer and fall, but lose their needles in winter - until spring when they surprise us all over again with their beauty.
I love the spaciousness of this photo; breathtaking!
ReplyDeletePretty shot of the horse farm.. I like your answers to the fill in game..Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteMore snow! Must be coming to an end soon EG :) does make for fab fence shots though, always positives :)
ReplyDeletewhat kind of tea? i have been drinking mostly tea lately ... because i have noticed that coffee really messes with my nerves ... makes me very nervous or jumpy. tea not at all. ( :
ReplyDeletei love snowy fence shots. very nice.
Beautiful photo! Love snows pictures too.
ReplyDeleteNice shot, something about board fences, snow, and horses really works.
ReplyDeleteI like larches also. I seldom see one though.
as always great shot of one of the many horse farms around here. Good answers to those questions also.
ReplyDeleteAren't you tired of all that snow by now? ;)
ReplyDeleteLove that picture - it looks like the horses are pulling a sleigh :))
Loved your answers this time as well. And now I'm thinking about doing the same thing for me, wonder how it turns out :))
Have a beautiful day!

Terrific answers, EG, and such a lovely rural scene.
ReplyDeleteQuite a majestic, rural scene.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful image!! if i were a tree, i would be a cherry blossom...my liquid of choice is sweet tea, hot or cold!! have a great day!!!!
ReplyDeleteit is a great shot. :) and i loved your #9.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place for those horses to roam!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot- I love the lines of the fences. I like your answers- for number 10 if I were a tree I would be one of those wonderful aspens or the pines I have seen (and smelled) at Yellowstone National Park..I could stand there and just inhale all day long. I'm weird, I know!
ReplyDeleteYour list made me smile.....I would have to agree with you on most of the numbers... so much snow this year...everywhere. Beauty is seen here, not only in the fence, but in the massive amount of land...Beautiful
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted the picture. It's peaceful to look at and it has horses!
ReplyDeleteLovely shot with the horse.
ReplyDeletePicture is striking and I had a read what you wrote first. Nice.
ReplyDeleteA great pic for the day -- I do love horses!! And I love your fill-in answers!! Mine were nearly the same!! Hope your week is going well!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love the lines of the fence as well. And I agree with Knipsa, it does look as if the horses were pulling a sleigh.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a horse I'd want a blanket.
ReplyDeletehappy to see those horses have a barn for shelter.
ReplyDeleteif i were a direction it would be South as in tropical because I love trees and beaches and sun all year long.
If i were a tree,
i would be the big fat old oak.. because i AM all three
Almost like a painting!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo for good fences. Lovely shot and I enjoyed your "if I were"
ReplyDeleteHave a great day. CM
That's a lovely snowy winter scene and yes the fence lines do make for good photo composition.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you still have snow. We are enjoying nice temps this week here.
Had fun reading your 6-10.
Love the wide open space and the lines of the fence. Great shot!
ReplyDeletepretty winter scene and i enjoyed your list, especially the desk/bookcase, i can relate!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo!
ReplyDeleteGood rural winter scene.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! It's just like a water colour painting a friend gave me, which I love, and I would have your photo on my wall any day.:)
ReplyDeleteGreat answers by the way!
I'll take your snow field. Much better scene then my 'snow farm' of yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! xx
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with some of your answers! Garnets are my favorite (and also my birthstone); love love love books; coffee starts my day and then I drink iced tea all day long. Loved the shot, too!

ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful photo! The fence adds such interest. Great lines! Enjoyed reading your answers to Rose's questions. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breathtaking snowed covered land and fence. Well done.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely winter scene.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot! It reminds me of a P.Buckley Moss painting.
ReplyDeleteBrett...that looks cold...but the horses don't seem to mind!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful contrast between the fence and snow!
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, I can feel the cold...
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful and I did enjoy your answers.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked Larch trees! And garnets!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are spoiled now with more pixels:) But still clear enough -I would say, a typical view of rural America, when looking at the fence:)
ReplyDeleteIf I were ... what meme are you referring to?
Beautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo. It drew my eye right to the barn, then back to the horses!
ReplyDeleteThe fence lines are a great graphic against the snow.
ReplyDeleteA garnet. Red. Not the choice I would have expected. But at least it is a somewhat low profile, non-flashy stone.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo, Tina!
ReplyDeleteHoly Tundra :)
Have a Beautiful (and warm) Day!!
Peace :)
Lovely fence entry this eek. Great answers but you are spot on with the Larch.
ReplyDeleteInteresting list on what you were to be! I like more the mid 3 :)
ReplyDeleteNice capture with fence
What a beautiful place, and I love your answers.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. I just loved reading your responses to the questions. Nice to get to know you a little better.
ReplyDeleteI too like paper and pens, pencils, but I never thought about being a desk. Hmmm, food for thought And I've never heard of a larch tree, which just goes to show what a small world I live in. That's one of the reasons I like blogging and meeting people like you. You open my eyes to the world's diversity and fill my vision with richness that I've never known before.
ReplyDeleteExcellent post.
ReplyDeleteLove your answers.
I guess I would be a desk piled with books. haha

I really like the picture...but it makes me realize how glad I will be when warmer weather returns. I always wonder how much cows and horses feel the cold.
ReplyDeleteYour answers are really interesting to read...I had to look up what liquid I would be. Went back to read, and thought DUH--I should not have had to look.
I am amazed I did not think of desk and bookcase. I LOVE pens and paper....always buying notebooks and pens even though I don't need them. And I have loved to read ever since I first learned. Mom started telling me it was time for me to turn out my light when I was in second grade. No joke.
