Balsam Lake at Rosedale River/ Sky Watch

Cloudy skies over Balsam Lake, part of the Trent-Severn Waterway ( 386 kilometres of canals, rivers and lakes) that connects Port Severn on Georgian Bay (Lake Huron) to Trenton on Lake Ontario

Great sky. I particularly like the way this photo is cropped with the tree on the left.

There is so much water around where you are, I'm always amazed at that.

A beautiful stretch of weather we have been having. I would have expected a little more "Fall" color.

B Squared,
So far only a few trees have turned... here and there. This photo was taken last Sunday, September 6.

I looked up Balsam Lake on Wikipedia just to jog my memory of where it was in relationship to the other names I so vividly remember from my youth. The aerial view of those lakes is amazing. Of course Rice Lake near Keene is the most magnificent. (ha ha) Alas, Rice Lake is full of weeds, but I think those northern lakes are still clear. You know the Kawarthas are the "land of shining water".

As far as trees turning, I had to drive 3 hours north of Boston into Maine yesterday and the trees, especially the swamp maples have turned wonderful shades of red.

I remember this place. It was beautiful then and is beautiful now! Wonder what it's like in the dead of winter, though? Maybe the owners come to Ocala?

Just hop in the boat and drive it out of the shed for a spin on the lake - looks like pure enjoyment to me.
