Hellebores/ Today's Flowers

Pink and green have replaced grey and brown in the garden on the east side of our garage. The hellebores are up and have begun to blossom!

Although it's cool now, we had some warm weather last week that encouraged the plants' flowering. Hellebores are said to bloom in central Ontario well into June. This is their first year here (I planted them last spring) so we'll see how well they do. I'm quite excited because I think they are beautiful.

I must agree - absolutely beautiful. I'm not familiar with this species. A type of lily?

What incredible captures! I love Helleborus.

Thanks for your comment...this Camellia survive minus 21°C. But perhaps it´s colder where you live? These new plants come from the US.

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment! I have never heard of Hellebores; however, that doesn't surprise me. I don't know many flowers by name! It is a pretty flower, and you photographed it well.

The photos of your Hellebores are absolutely gorgeous. I hadn't noticed them in our parks before but actually took photos this time when I spotted them a couple of weeks' ago. Not in full bloom like yours though. These are magnificent. Thank you for sharing and have a great week.

I also love helleobores and the variety you have is so beautiful. While yours are beginning to bloom, mine in NC have already finished.

I am so glad that Spring has finally arrived for you. I like Helleborus too. Our winter has been so mild our H. have been blooming sense January. Unbelievable and they are getting taller and taller. Weird. Yours are very pretty. MB

Beautiful shot! I've heard the flowers are much more beautiful in the north but I can't understand why.
