Midland Painted Turtle

Midland painted turtle - Algonquin Provincial Park

He's so vain he probably thinks this post is about him! (Apologies to singer Carly Simon)

Isn't he colourful?

FYI: Added later...

Upside-down

Yep, that's a snail on its back!
I am linking to Saturday Critters HERE.

Oh WOW!!!! The reflection is just as clear as the real thing! And I love the red along his edge. His head is UP, so he is posing for you to show you his best side! I think that is the sign of a happy turtle (can turtles be happy?) because he is not hiding in his shell.
