V/Alphabe-Thursday

 Hanging squash

V is for VEGGIES - hanging veggies, actually. OK, I have to admit that I have never seen anything quite like this before - the front side of an apple orchard decorated with  squash and pumpkins.

A short stretch of the front side of the apple orchard

Sadly, a few of the decorations have fallen onto the grass, probably a result of the wind we've experienced lately.

 Hanging pumpkins

I wonder if the pumpkins will be recycled as Halloween decor.

I've never seen hanging pumpkins as a decoration. Why not?

There was an old farmhouse nearby that used to hang pumpkins on Halloween from a huge bare tree. There musta been 50 hangin'. quite a sight.

I don't think I've ever seen this before. Sort a lends a different meaning to a "hanging party", huh? :-)

What a fabulous way to greet autumn! Nobody ('cept me) decorates for autumn here, it's depressing whereas this is wonderful!

This is very unusual and pretty! In your first picture, I love the little top squash. It has stripes and is shaped like a heart!

Have you heard of the woman, along highway #7 somewhere, who puts out fake dressed up geese? I would love to see them.

Had not seen hanging pumpkins before...neat! Most of the pumpkins and gourds I see as decorations in the neighborhood have been eaten on by squirrels this year♪ http://lauriekazmierczak.com/variations-on-a-pine-cone/
