A favourite place to photograph wildflowersThese are busy tracks running north and south between Toronto and Prince George, British Columbia (and to points in between). Sometimes the trains passing though are only 20 minutes apart so I have to look and listen when I'm playing with my camera here. There's a road crossing fairly close by to the north and to the south so I listen for the TOOT! On certain days I can hear the trains many kilometres away. This is a great place to photograph wildflowers and insects.
Starting at the bottom left and moving clockwise: Queen Anne's lace, St. Johnswort, purple loosestrife, virgin's bower, monarda and....gold! OK, fool's gold. ;-)

Fool's Gold made me laugh. I remember as a kid there was a place we occasionally found rocks with that and we were always thrilled.

I grew up across the road from a railroad track. Trains only went by 2 or 3 times a day, so we were able to walk the tracks. Such fun memories. Love the wild flowers! BJ

About my camera...I really have come to the conclusion that it isn't my camera. Or else all the other photos would have a lot of noise in them. I think the new flash card helped, but I still need to go where I can get some pictures with a broad expanse of sky.
Another thing I thought of later was I wonder if the reason I haven't had trouble till just recently was I had my polarize filter set different. Sometimes I just totally forget to play with it.
I really don't think people have much trouble with Canons, or Nikons, or any of the big name cameras.
LOVE the photo of the tracks, and the closeups, too. Great presentation. I am always amazed at the beauty that grows so close to the tracks!
Beautiful treatment of pics. Someday--when I grow up--I will figure out how to do just what you did. The train is about 10 miles from my house and early in the stillness of the morning you can hear the whistle as it passes through Stanwood proper. MB
