East Gwillimbury rowan trees (mountain ash) are loaded with berries this year after two years with none at all.The tree pictured here is planted with two others in a local park. Each is covered with berries that sometimes stay on the trees through February offering a tasty frozen bite for hungry birds. And bonus! They berry-laden trees look wonderful in winter when the rest of he neighbourhood is covered in white.
This tree was planted seven or eight years ago and is now a good-sized tree.

Mountain Ash are very nice trees. Lots out this way. the Robins and Waxwings love them in the fall. A small flock of waxwings can strip a tree of berries in a very short time.

Nice choice. I have a similar tree in my yard. It sure does attract the birds.

These are beautiful trees with such beautiful berries and we have one in our back yard. We wait each year for birds to come and feast upon the berries while my camera feasts upon them (the birds). Another name for them is Mountain Ash. This is a lovely entry!
I always admire Rowan trees but their berries are the first to turn so signaling Autumn nearly here.

We have a tree with similar looking berries but I think the leaves are different. I'll have to have DH check the photo. We've never known the name of our tree.

Beautiful tree! It's amazing how nature works. Our maple trees have their "propellers" also only every other year :o)

These berries are beautiful. I like that birds enjoy these in the winter. Nothing is nicer on a very cold day to see the birds eating these - it keeps your hope up for the inevitable spring days...
I love ash trees. Our town also has many mountain ash trees. We had a big one in our yard but it died this summer. It is now in the wood pile to be burnt in the stove, which makes me sad. I hated cutting it down, but dead is dead.

I just love East Gillimbury! It has to be the nicest town in the world. These berries are beautiful and I can imagine how beautiful that tree looks with it's red berries against winter snow and skies.
I love how each berry looks like it has a star at its tip!

What a marvellous tree! And for me very "exotic" because we don't have those here in Portugal. Friends that have visited Canada say that it is a very beautiful country. Your blog is the proof of it.
