Carpet roses grow close to the ground much like...you guessed it...a carpet. Not many roses are hardy enough to grow in East Gwillimbury, but these are! And they bloom without ceasing all (YES ALL) summer. In summer's heat they don't bloom as profusely, it's true, but look at them NOW! Pretty nice for this late in October, eh?

What a nice flower to have nearby. A great shade of red.
EG: This is a great little flower. I must say that I'm surprised you have anything growing. We went under freezing last night in Ohio.
What else can I say besides that is just beautiful.
FG,
These roses have been known to survive several frosts. One year they bloomed into late November. That was a very nice year!
Rune,
They must like rain as we had a very rainy summer and they have never been s happy. ;-)
Striking!
That would indeed be lovely to look at all summer long.
Beautiful! And thanks for the name:) Mine is up HERE. Hope to see you there! Happy Today's Flower!~

Very nice shots.
Truly a great achievement for your latitude! Floribundas are such delightfully prolific bloomers and this one ia also so bright and ties in nicely with autumn colours.
Enjoyed every picture..the birds, the Carpet roses, the beautiful and colourful trees, blue skies and ...
- Cheers Gisela.
Very pretty! Sounds like something I need here if they could survive the heat.
That is such a really great color. Beautiful ! Thanks for sharing. I still have a couple rose buds trying to make it before winter.
They are such a brilliant red! I sure wouldn't mind having some to brighten up the place about now!
Lovely red flowers!

Though not as far North as you, I wonder how far we can take "Today's Flowers" into the fall and/or winter. Thank God for carpet roses!
That's the reason we call them here in Greece "wild roses"!
Love the red color. Also like your bird shots in the previous blog.
Great flowers, thanks so much for sharing.
