Heritage Railway/ Sepia Scenes
I hope you can hear the conductor calling "All aboard!"
Operating in central Ontario, the Uxbridge-Durham Railway, run by volunteers, carries tourists 20 kilometers from Uxbridge to Stouffville (and back) on Saturdays and Sundays from May to mid October.
This is a closeup of the well-maintained station. Hey look! Toronto is only 41 mile from here.
The railway also includes several refurbished passenger cars built in the 1920s and some 1950s locomotives.
Regular weekend rides are now closed for the season, but you can still ride the Santa/ Christmas route in December.

Really I admire these beautiful photographs, very good post!
Bravo!
I was thinking of posting something about trains too but changed my mind..Nice photos!
Loved your choice for the photo ... and the conductor really helped add that old-time feel as well!
Ahh, beautiful sepia scenes...
Wonderful photos. The sepia makes them appear to be from another era. It's just great that volunteers do all this.
Wonderful pictures...I would love to see this in person. Another place that needs to be preserved..
This definitely looks like of an era gone by! Great post!
I can't see your photos due to slow laptop and piggybacked wi-fi here in Florida... but I know the sound of the YDHR engine very well, it hoots right in my back yard every weekend during the summer.
These are gorgeous!
You have superb talent for finding just the right subject for all the memes you do - really nice!
Excellent series of photos. It's wonderful that people have preserved this station and these trains.
Durham is great historical place to be..
and this sepia tone make it more nostalgic..
Very nice old touch to your photos.
Takes me back, way back!
I love old trains and old train stations. We had an old train station in Newton, MA, where I grew up, but the trains are now quite new. The old train photos remind me of the one we rode in Vermont, through beautiful countryside. Great choice for sepia.
This group fits sepia just perfect! We love anything to do with trains. Kudos to anyone who maintains these old stations for the public to enjoy. Great post!
Trains work so well in sepia, they give such a feeling of time gone by.
We rode a similar tourist railway in New England this past summer.
Once again, I love sepia images. I think it must be fun to ride the Santa train.

Beautiful works. It looks stunning in the sepia tones.
I am doing something different on my Gordon, Ohio blog. I set out to photograph and describe every house in the village where I was born.
Gordon, Ohio
the first photo tells an entire story, perfectly framed.
all three are fantastic!!
Great shots. The conductor really adds to the old timey feel of the train station. Cool!
That's curious. I would have thought they'd give the distance in kilometers, not miles.
In any case, the station makes a wonderful subject for sepia!
What a gorgeous trip back into old worlds! Love all these shots!
I love your sepia scenes! You did a great job on this post!
