Cross-country Skiing/ My World
We do have snow, but it's not so cold that we stay indoors!
Last week a cross-country skier passed us while we were walking in the forest. He had that YES! look on his face as if he was looking forward to a few minutes with nature.

Yay! No snow here yet, just a half hour south (that "big storm" last night was nothing but rain). So I can't take my skis out on the golf course yet. But I could throw them in the car and drive up your way!
Great post and photos today. Your world looks beautiful.
I like the monochrome below also.
Troy
You would have loved parts of Norway right now (although not here)
I don't think I could ever do that - I'm not tough enough!!! Nice shots though - they were calling for snow here yesterday & today, but we've only seen a few flurries!
We so rarely get snow, that it's a joy to see it. I love the tangle of branches with their snow in your photos!
Enjoy your beautiful winter-- thank you for sharing some of its beauty.
Cross country's waaaay too much like work for me. But I wouldn't mind having that snow on a mountain for downhill purposes.
Funny you should mention it, bu tin your comment you said you didn't realize Raleigh was as big as it is. So out of curiosity I checked, and it's even bigger that I knew. I had estimated our population at about 300,000. Turns out it's over 380,000, and recently passed Minneapolis, Tampa, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and St. Louis.
I had no idea.
That looks like fun although I'm not much of a skier. Beautiful shots.
What a wonderful winter wonderland you live in. I am sooo envious!!!
I love snow on the trees coming down on you in an avalanche as you pass below, deer hiding in thickets and the gleaming whiteness of it all when the sun comes out.
It looks like a magical place. I sure would love walk in all that snow just to commune with nature.
Looks so pretty.
We do not have thick enough snow for skiing...Snowtime is always a lovely photo opp! Have a nice week, enjoy!
Looks very pretty but my, I dont like to be init.
I'm cold just looking at the photos, but it is an interesting aspect of your world. I have friends who cross-country ski, and it always sounds like great fun.
I miss cross-country skiing. This looks glorious. I can feel the swish swish of the skis.
neat pics...no snow here yet. i keep thinking maybe this is the year we get lots of snow (i hope not) but...it has been a while since a heavy snow season here.
have a good week.
Very cool captures.
That looks like a wonderful time. Beautiful shot. I also like the photo of the sleigh.
Looks like fun. Swoosh swoosh. MB
WOnderful, I have always wanted to try cross country skiing.
Wow, I love the snow! It must be fun to be out in it when it's not such a cold day.
A great winter activity. Lovely snowy pictures!
No snow for us yet but should be, the temp is around 68 degrees, not enough snow on the ski lodge to open, they are not happy.
Your view of the snow and the skier is very pretty.
Thanks for sharing your world
Beautiful shots.
It's snowing like mad here again tonight. Oh well, such is life!
nice snow photos. thanks for sharing a portion of your world
Nice shots. I'm longing to take my skis and go to La Plagne for Xmas !
Nice post. I always wonder if it's harder to ski like this than just walk. :-)
Oh, i wish i can try skiing someday. Never mind if i'd be sitting on my butt from time to time :D We don't have any snow here in my world. your pics are all beautiful!
so beautiful place!
We have only had snow in the high country so far. It has been a fairly mild fall. I haven't done any cross country skiing in many years, but we like to snowshoe whenever we can. To get to the snow we often load our snowshoes on our quad and ride to the trails. We can get farther on the quads than in our truck. I invite you to come see the Hulks, a unique aspect of my town, Powell River, BC. - Margy
EG: What a neat look at your country with the snow and nature.
That was a cute comment, I got it.
Great photos. I love snow.
Wow, look at all that snow! It looks beautiful!
I've always wanted to do this but have never really lived where there was THAT much snow.
Loved your Ruby Tuesday post, too!
Snow..... never seen it. It looks beautiful. One day, :sigh:...
A friend who lives in Nain (Labrador) says he is sick of snow. Guess it's like me being sick of the sun.
Great pictures, thanks for sharing
