Dead Wood/ Watery Wednesday

Stumps, trunks and branches in an old mill pond

On a calm day, the reflections on this mill pond called to my camera and me. Doesn't the reflection and the log sticking out of the water on the right look a little like an alligator with jagged teeth?

My first thought was an alligator, even before I read your post!

Hi and thanks for visiting my blog while I was away.
I've scrolled through your latest shots and they are as expected all blooming marvellously detailed.
This watery photo is so full of mystique and atmosphere it should be displayed as an illustration for some great novel. Right there on the cover.

Before digital cameras . . . how many of us would have taken a picture of this scene? I think the digital age brought out out imaginations greatly!

Yes it definitely DOES look like an alligator!

The water is so incredibly still. Great shot.

Nice shot. It does look like an alligator with teeth. I love to take shots of things in the water (obviously LOL!). They make the most interesting shots.

Love the reflections. Reminds me of some lakes in Texas.

Did you have a particular reason for not doing this in black and white?

judi/Gmj said...

You found a Texas size gator. :D, I really like the moodiness of this one.

Oh, yes, that's an alligator! And the four posts are part of a castle. The weird wood at right is a witch, descending upon the scene.

That's something, sometime mistaken for abstract and makes for a beautiful photo.

Great reflections. I love to look for still lakes and ponds to see what I can see reflected in the water. I love the "alligator". We look for real alligators here in FL, but most times they are just sleeping!
