Looking Through/ Sky Watch

Trellis leading to a dock on the south shore of Lake Simcoe

This photo make Lake Simcoe look much smaller tan it really is because you are looking from Island Grove over to Snake Island, which is fairly close to the southwestern shore of the lake. Lake Simcoe is a good-sized lake, though not large enough to be one of the five Great Lakes. (You remember the Great Lakes - Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior - from geography class, right?)

Great shot. I'll bet it is beautiful with vines over the trellis. Go back and take a shot when that happens, ok?

Beautiful shot, EG. Mother Nature is being good for awhile.
Yes, a shot in a month or so would be neat. MB

Beautiful capture. No, I don't remember anything from geography class. If I've been there, I remember. That's my travel excuse.

Beautiful capture. Love the composition!

I remember Lake Michigan from last summer... watched the sunset over it... gorgeous!! We don't have lakes that size here. Just swamps.

I could see some pretty wisteria blossoms hanging from this arch sometime soon.

What an artistic composition. Love it.

Lake Simcoe may not be large enough to qualify as a Great Lake, but you sure have captured a gorgeous photo. I like the way you framed the sun and reflection with the trellis.

Sweet - and thanks for the Geography class ;) - I don't think they dealt with the great lakes in great detail (maybe due to being in Europe?)

How can anything called snake be do drop dead gorgeous.

I always think of the old saying "On Elizabeth Her Majesty's Service" to remember the order of the great lakes.... Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan, Superior.
Great shot looking towards Snake Island.
