Looking Through/ Sky Watch
This photo make Lake Simcoe look much smaller tan it really is because you are looking from Island Grove over to Snake Island, which is fairly close to the southwestern shore of the lake. Lake Simcoe is a good-sized lake, though not large enough to be one of the five Great Lakes. (You remember the Great Lakes - Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior - from geography class, right?)

Great shot. I'll bet it is beautiful with vines over the trellis. Go back and take a shot when that happens, ok?
Beautiful shot, EG. Mother Nature is being good for awhile.
Yes, a shot in a month or so would be neat. MB
How pretty. I like how the sun is contained in the trellis.

Magnificent picture!
This place is really beautiful!

Beautiful capture. No, I don't remember anything from geography class. If I've been there, I remember. That's my travel excuse.
Beautiful capture. Love the composition!
I remember Lake Michigan from last summer... watched the sunset over it... gorgeous!! We don't have lakes that size here. Just swamps.
Thanks for the geography lesson, EG.. I always need reminders like this!!!! ha
Your photo is amazing. Love that trellis ---and the sky and water (coloring) is terrific. Thanks.
Hugs,
Betsy
Great catch! You were at the right place at the right time!
I left a comment on the train post also. Don't know how I got behind. . .
I could see some pretty wisteria blossoms hanging from this arch sometime soon.
What an artistic composition. Love it.
Lake Simcoe may not be large enough to qualify as a Great Lake, but you sure have captured a gorgeous photo. I like the way you framed the sun and reflection with the trellis.
Beautiful sky shot! Fantastic
5 lakes.. Got it:) I do pretty badly at the geography computer games that my kids have (hanging head in shame:)
I love the way you shot that through the trellis. Beautiful. I don't remember much from geography but on a good day I remember the Great Lakes, ha.
Perfect composition! Oh and I had forgotten one lake. French school is a long way away!
Brilliant capture, you always have a great eye for things like this.
Have a great week

i like how you captured the sun within the arched trellis...lovely. beautiful lake.
have a lovely evening.
Once again - simplicity and the foreground makes the picture :-)
Lovely shot!
Happy weekend.
Beautiful shot, I love the sunlight streaming through the arch.
Beautiful shot, so appealing the way you framed the sun!
Very nice picture! :)
Beautiful photo!!
Happy SWF
This is a gorgeous scene, EG! :)
Beautifully framed, Lake Simcoe is a wonderful place, thanks for sharing it with us all.
Like your photos of the geese as well, they are so cute.
Thanks for brightening our day on Sky Watch Friday.
What a beautiful view!! I love it!
Sweet - and thanks for the Geography class ;) - I don't think they dealt with the great lakes in great detail (maybe due to being in Europe?)
Gorgeous! What a way to watch the day winding down.
What a beautiful shot! Love the sun shining through the arch! Great composition - and lovely sky!
Gorgeous shot, EG! Love how the trellis is like a frame! Look forward to seeing it with the vines all over it! The colors are breathtaking! Happy SWF! Have a great weekend!
How can anything called snake be do drop dead gorgeous.
I always think of the old saying "On Elizabeth Her Majesty's Service" to remember the order of the great lakes.... Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan, Superior.
Great shot looking towards Snake Island.
Nicely done. As I told Daryl, I want to be there too.
Great shot of the lake with a well detailed description of the surroundings.
Have a nice weekend.

Beautiful sunset...I love the foreground fence and trellis...and the reflection seems to waltz right through that trellis...
The Sun in the trellis, nicely done. It really adds much to the shot.
Very romantic shot with the trellis.
Ah! This is a good place to hang-out with your loved one. Fantastic location and capture! :0
What an awesome shot...
Be so nice to sit on a park bench and just gaze at that tranquil scene..
Great moment to relax and contemplate on God's great goodness to mankind!
I love this shot!
Gee, even I remember those although feography class seems a very long way away in the dim distant past.
A lovely shot with the arch.
Beautiful skywatch!
The trellis is a great foreground element adding depth.
What a beautifully composed photo, absolutely delightful. Have a great weekend and thank you very much for stopping by my blog.
The trellis certainly creates an artistic touch to the silver grey water and sky! Beautiful!
