I have tried taking photos like this, of bits and pieces of machinery, and they just don't work. That is why I am always amazed when you make them work, and they look stunning!

If their guard dog was anything like mine, you would have nothing to fear. The worst thing she does is smell bad.
This was perfect for sepia! I was going to try to post a picture for it today, but forgot.
The sepia softens the rust on the iron fence handle. If they say there is a dog on duty - well, I'd take the message to heart, make no eye contact and slowly retreat (should they let the dog out to enforce the message...)

I thinks this is one my favorite photo's that I have seen on your blog. I love the detail of the fence,the latch, chain and lock. They work so well together.
