Sun going down over Lake Simcoe
The air this summer feels cold. The days have been lovely (to my way of thinking) but the nights have been chilly. Not cool enough to make ice cubes, mind you, but definitely jacket weather. Tonight, for example, the temperature is going down to 10°C (50°F).
My perennial gardens love it but I can't help feeling sorry for cottagers who dream of swimming in the lake. Br-r-r. Now my toes are thinking about the cold and want me to hunt for a second pair of socks. (Yep, my brain is in my feet. LOL)
Well, no matter how cool the weather it's still fun to watch the sun go down over the water ...so lets peek through this arbor.

Been cold here in Michigan, too. I'm not complaining mind you. Just too darn hot in Ft. Laud this summer.
I know what you mean about the cold. When I walked the dogs this morning, I really wished I had put on long sleeves!
But I also know what you mean about that gateway to such a lovely golden world!!

You want to try living in the UK - you are describing peak summer weather here! well, not exactly, as it has been unseasonably warm here the last several weeks. This week is a bit of a wash-out but it still doesn't require two pairs of socks.
p.s. some have been known to have their brains located in other extremities.
I feel badly for our local business owners, who suffer! The tourists are on their own, in my mind! They need to learn to appreciate the water and earth without screaming around on boats at high speed! I have fun showing my granddaughter the tadpoles in the pond. The simple things in life!
The seasonal residents seem to understand. If we could only all do our part for the environment, but I fear these changes are now part of climate change. Last July was wet, and cold, too.
Typical western Wa. weather too. It rained the past two days but I think the gardens need it. We've had odd weather too. Wet Spring--Very warm June and July is just spotty. When I was in Eastern Wa. it was their usual HOT. Go figure. MB

It's stifling here - the hottest in the five years we've lived in Ocala.
The view is beautiful but I agree, the water would be way too cold for me.

What a clever shot! I love it! I also agree with your words about the weather -- much colder at night ehre also but maybe that's good as we can sleep well then snuggled under our blankets. When its too hot, there's only so much you can do to keep cool!

Beautiful photo, EG... I'm surprised that it is still so cool up there. Except for about 2 weeks of hot weather the first of June, we have had a mild summer here also ---SO FAR. BUT-usually August is our hottest month.

Our weather in NC has been odd as well. Mostly rain and humidity that would do Florida proud. Ugh...
Beautiful photograph. It's funny how I was posting a winter shot (actually it was when we had snow on March 1 so it was almost spring) because I am so tired of the heat and you are tired of the cool. Your weather sounds like what my sister has had in Nantucket, MA the past week or so, and we've discussed how we wish she could send me some of the cool. 50 at night sounds like heaven to me but I understand for people wanting to swim in the lake, that's cool.
I always seem to be about 18 hours behind in everything... Mr. Linky is on the blink again so I came to visit the long way. Loved your sepia scene by the way. This arbor looks so inviting... as I get older, the peace and calm of a place is more important than the activity... although a good book and a hot cup of tea would feel right at home here.
