Early morning pollution haze
High pressure overhead resulted in a temperature inversion that trapped pollution close to the ground creating a sepia effect over East Gwillimbury.

Even if pollution is a bad thing, the effects in this photo are incredible!! I love the golden light!!
I also love the icicles in the previous post!! Do you remember breaking them off and sucking on them, when you were a kid?
And the fog rolls in... The lighting is amazing in this "hazy" shot.
I forgot to prepare a sepia scene for today. Am I too late??
This looks to pretty to be pollution.
You have pollution way out in your countryside? Too many big cities close by? Anyway it is a very good shot. great shimmery coloring--or none. MB
I thought it was fog until I read the caption. Whatever it is, it made a nice picture. I loved the icicle pictures!
I love how the corn frames the shot--and the haze softens it. The frost detail on the field is great too. Love the whole picture.
Seems unusual to see air pollution in the countryside, but what an amazing scene you captured. I especially like the corn in the foreground.
That is a beautiful picture.I love the soft colors.
Hello: Just found this meme and your blog. I too live in East Gwillimbury. Terrific picture. Valerie
I very much like how the foreground color is much more intense then the rest of the picture. It creates the feeling of distance and obscured visibility that haze is so good at doing.
Is an atmosphere suggestive!
Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
:-)
This is a bit eerie. We usually associate smog with Los Angeles, not beautiful Ontario (like the license plates say). I hope the haze soon lifted above this beautiful farm. Happy New Year!
Nicely done scene. The lighting is perfect. Too bad it's from nasty particulates instead of water vapor (aka fog). Happy New Year.
Fabulous effect work, as usual - It's beautiful!
Happy New Yer! aah, Year. :)
What a beautiful effect EG. I like the fog anyway. I hope it cleared up.I must do Sepia sometime. I love it.
Happy New Year.

Great sepia pictures, EG.... Don't know if it looks hazy---or foggy ---or what.... Neat!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
EG, do you mean to say that you didn't edit this photo at all? It's a stunning photo! :)
It makes for an interesting photo, but the pollution can be awful... Michelle
