Old Order Mennonite buggy turning into it's driveway
I couldn't help wondering how the horse must have felt when cars splashed slush on it as they passed by.

This is such a wonderful sight and picture. I would love to talk to the people inside the buggy and ask all kinds of questions that would sound silly to them. When I used to ride in the snow, I had to dismount and clean the packed snow out of the horses hoofs to keep from sliding around on the icy ground. I wonder if they have to do this. This shot deserves to be framed.
I would like to spend a week or two just totally sunk into this quiet lifestyle.
I live in a big city and I don't think I could produce the kind of diverse shots that you do. :)

Reminds me of Pennsylvania...good capture!
We are spoiled these days, passing by in our modern cars full of heat if we wish. Think of the people in that unheated wagon. And the horse, the cold and splashing not making for a nice day for the equine engine at work. The simple lines of the wagon look perfect in sepia...

Those horses sometimes take abuse. The Amish kids around here ride up and down the road for hours with a boom box blarring. Sometimes they even ride on top of the buggy! I feel so bad for the horse, but he just keeps trotting along.

Domesticated horses have a quiet dignity, and I love how they maintain their composure, especially since they are such powerful beasts. Holding great forces in submission, they are excellent models of meekness.
The poor horse, working hard and getting all splashed on.
Sepia adds to the old-fashioned quality of this photo.
What a tough lifestyle you've portrayed. Tough for the animals and the people.
