Turkeys that hang around a farm on Centre Street, Mount Albert (East Gwillimbury)
A friend who lives in this area tells me these turkeys come right up to her window to watch her exercise in the morning. Turkey TV!
But when I want to watch them (with my camera) they scuttle right off. Sheesh!
The light was very bright so they are not perfect photos...but I just wanted you to see how funny relatively tame wild turkeys look when they are in a hurry to get away.

Not so long ago, there were not wild turkeys around....now they are plentiful. At least in some of our areas, and I for one always enjoy seeing them.
They are clever birds. I am so glad they have made something of a come back in the wild. Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to represent this country instead of the eagle.
We have plenty of wild turkeys around here too, but they don't show up nearly as well!
It's always interesting to see wild turkeys hurrying along. I must admit that this is the first time I've seen them against a snowy landscape.
I really like these shots. Turkeys are, from my experience and contrary to what Abe says, rather dumb creatures. They do know enough to run from people shooting at them with little black boxes, though! ;-)
This is a big flock. We have some in the wooded areas but I've never seen this many together.
Maybe you should go exercise with your friend? lol Great shots anyway -- the combination of the two.
Great capture of the wild turkeys! I think the turkey population has really increased around here, too! One would look good on a Thanksgiving table - he he!
They do scurry away on skinny little legs and as fast as can be.
It's been about a month since I've seen our little residents.
Nice shots!
Lol, these are excellent, oh though turkeycrow!
Guess you are not wearing the right clothes, EG.... IF YOu want them to watch you, get out your treadmill and put on your exercise clothes. They will COME!!!!! ha

What a great entry you have. Hope you have a nice weekend. God Bless!
Turkey are strange looking birds. there is a wild flock of domesticated turkeys that run in the town of LaConner near me.
Super shots in the snow. MB
We don't see many 'live' turkeys where I live. Thanks for sharing your wintry views. Love your title! It's perfect ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

LOL. We used to see wild turkeys frequently in the fields along the road in FL. I don't see them so often here.
My Camera Critters
Those little devils are hard to get a photo of aren't they. They seem to skitter just far enough ahead to be out of range for me. At least you got a couple shots.
Darla
What a fun shot!
