Get your maple syrup here!
This time of year, Old Order Mennonite farmers can be seen parked by the side of the roads in Southwestrn Ontario. The farmers sell maple syrup - sap gathered from maple trees in spring and then boiled into the sweet syrup.

That top one would make a great Ruby Tuesday post, too! Wonderful shots of the Mennonite farm area. Reminds me of the Amish country in and around Lancaster, PA.
Um-um, would I love to have some of that maple syrup! A bit tastier than the sorghum molasses my grandmother used to make.

Oh, yes! I would love some of that maple syrup, too! Really interesting post and great captures. I've seen the buggies, too, but this is the first time to see that kind of wagon.

Maple syrup...I remember the movie Rain Man, with Dustin Hoffman, he only wants maple syrup, and that's what I want for my pancakes too!

Neat post, EG. That is a really neat wagon---almost looks like a funeral Wagon. My Father-in-law was a Mennonite but he said he backed away. His brother still went to the local Mennonite Church out here until his death. Very interesting. MB

We have Amish around here, also....I love seeing their farms. Everything is usually so neat and tidy.

Such a picturesque setting. We have a large Amish community here, too, but I've never seen a "bus" buggy before.

Good post. I love that part of Ontario. We're going to Ottawa next month, for grandchild #2. When I come home I will be taking the bus from Ottawa => Peterborough. You just can't get there from there to here ! This is a big province.
Love the road sign. Better watch out if a runaway horse and buggy minus driver careers across your path. :)
In Canada we used to buy our maple syrup by the gallon straight off the farm. Now, in far away Australia, we already have our supply of new season's maple sugar candy put by for christmas,
I've never had "real" maple syrup that I can recall. I bet it's yummy!
