Last Monday in the York Regional Forest
The weather was cool but beautiful last Monday, perfect for a walk in the forest. Oh, and perfect for riding horseback too, as you can see in the largest square of this mosaic. Moving clockwise: dried and curled fern (most ferns are still green but this variety has retired for the year), Pringle's aster (Symphyotrichum pilosum), Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) that has turned a vibrant red, a mauve-coloured New England aster (Symphyotrichum novae-angliae), and yellow leaves on small shrub (not sure what)..

Beautiful shots from your autumn world. My Virginia creeper is finally starting to change more too but not as much as yours. I used to ride horses as a girl and still recall those days when I see a shot like the one in your post.

It's interesting how similar your foliage is to that which we have here. We are a little further north so Fall is well under way.

Beautiful mosaic....my daughter fell of her horse on Monday and is recovering from a concussion...Sorry that is what I thought of when I saw the horse....Michelle
