I think it's the gauze curtain in the window that makes this reflection so wonky, perfect for the "crooked little man." You do remember the rhyme, right?
There was a crooked man and he walked a crooked mile,
He found a crooked sixpence upon a crooked stile,
He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together in a crooked little house.
The house BEFORE it became crooked

Great reflection and a sweet rhyme ;-)
Very cool reflection! I love the house too.
Very interesting reflection of the checkerboard house. And I do remember the nursery rhyme.
Love the flower photo!
I love this post! I always read nursery rhymes to my kids. The reflection is perfect for the rhyme.
Great reflection and, yes, I do remember the crooked little man!
I love the reflection-- you were certainly perceptive and ""on the watch" for a unique reflection to photograph, and you found it!! Mickie
That is certainly an interesting design for a house. I'm doing my "immigration" to Canada next week... very exciting! But I still have to come back to Jackson and work for another month. And sell the house. I hope to make it up to EG when I'm settled though. I love your little neck of the woods. :)
it looks like abstract art--very pretty.
This is fabulous! I love it. Thanks for showing the before picture. I had a weird image in my head at first of a checkered house but now it makes perfect sense. :)
I love this photo! thanks for showing the "regular" view of the checkered house also.
I am fascinated by that reflection and you satisfied some of the mystery with your explanation and showing the reflected house... All I can say about that checkered house is "interesting"
Love your reflection photo!

Yup, even I know the rhyme.
Can't Remember Where looks like a lovely place... ;-)
Seriously, it's a marvellous reflection.
Love the rhyme! What an amazing looking place and fantastic reflection, as always! Enjoy a lovely weekend!

Have a great weekend.

The reflection is great - that checkerboard house is a bit busy for my taste.
That gauze curtain does add a sense of "wonkiness" to the photo. But it's fun to look through the camera and capture life's wonkiness!
What an unusual house! I like it and its strange reflection, they look like "mad" houses!
Cool and whacky!
Great reflection of one crazy house!
Great post. it certainly looks like a house from a nursery rhyme.
I would get a headache living in that or being a neighbor. I guess it is why some people don't like what I like.
The house is very elegant when it's not crooked, but I rather like the crooked version. The is a great capture.
what an interesting brick pattern, how clever of you to notice the reflection in the window opposite.
Amazing reflection! I am impressed that the bricklayers got those arches done with any two bricks of the same color side by side.
That is a really clever capture. I like the checkerboard.
Clever reflection. The brickwork on that house is very unusual.
Great reflections and what a beautiful house.
I thought my eyes had finally failed me. Nice shot.
Reflections like an abstract picture caused my curiosity and was made sense by your explanation. I love the photo of the house before it crooked: I remember seeing this kind of red house with a chimney in a children’s book in my childhood.
Very interesting and curious!! First I see the magic and then you show the secret of the trick.
What an adorable photo it is!!
It reminds me of a bedtime story which I read for my son.
Thank you for visiting.
Have a great weekend!
This is perfect, EG...and the house reminds me of peppermint...
Before I saw you introduce the crooked little man I thought the reflection was perfect for a fairy tale... Quite the house too!
I like that house. So unique, and what a different reflection. Excellant EG.

The reflection is quite usual, by its framing and its grain, but the house is stunning !
I really like this one...and I may be OLD, but I remember that little rhyme/story. I’m so glad you showed the actual house. That added so much. The reflection is so awesome and cool. Leave it up to you to pop up this week with such a perfect shot.
I don't think I ever saw a red roof before.
