Sue's garden
Saturday the Friends of the East Gwillimbury Library hosted a garden tour and - since I am on the Friends' board - I had a part in organizing it. One of my "jobs" (Truly it was not a job but a pleasure) was to be a greeter in one of the loveliest of gardens on the tour - actually two gardens, a sunny one in the front yard and a shady one out back.
The mosaic is a taste of what you would have seen if you had visited Sue's gardens.

It was a warm day but the backyard was significantly cooler than the front.

I like the flowers, but what makes me think that Sue is someone really happy are those wonderful tall trees she has in her yard!I would be sooooo happy to have such big friends in my garden!

We are having a series of over-100-degree days here in the desert, so these photos were like a wonderful vacation for me!

What a beautiful garden. I enjoy garden tours and getting to see some of the private gardens in my City during open houses and it's great fun seeing one in your part of the world.

Sue's garden looks wonderful, EG. I like house tours and garden tours. When I worked in Columbus, I lived in a historic in-town neighborhood called German Village, which last year had its 50th annual Haus Und Garten tour on the last week in June. I will miss this year's tour, now that I no longer live and work there.
Good for you in volunteering to help. Without active volunteers, no community is strong.
