Seen from the road
Some of what can be seen these days as vacationers travel Ontario roads. The largest square is a mama donkey and her baby. Cute, eh?
Moving clockwise: Canada anemone (Anemone canadensis), Sulphur cinquefoil (Potentilla recta), common St.John's-wort (Hypericum perforatum), common goat's-beard (Tragopogon dubius) seed head and burdock (Arctium minus).
Please note that I include the botanical names because they remain the same around the world but the common names vary.

How funny that you should post a pic of a mama donkey and her baby. I had a dream last night that I had a donkey in my back yard and she had a baby donkey! Weird eh?

Mother and baby donkeys are picture-perfect! I'm also impressed with the purity of white flowers and universe-like fluff. We eat burdock roots. I love your collage.

You're right, botanical names reduce confusion as the same common name can be applied to different plants and the same plant often has many common names.
Hi E.G. - No, I didn't send the hot weather to you...I'm afraid this is just the beginning of some climate changes we're not going to like. Right now, at high tide, parts of downtown Miami are 3-4 inches under water! According to climate scientists, the seas are rising much faster than they had predicted!
It's hot here, but not as hot as you are. And 90 degrees this time of year is fairly normal.
Re the watering of plants: All of these plants are watered via in-ground sprinklers. As I understand it, the water used is reclaimed water (non-potable) from the ponds in Stone Creek. So, that's a good thing. Same is true of the golf course.
Fortunately, we usually get a shower or two (or storm) in the afternoons and they also bring much-needed water!

I just itching to blow the thistledown off that dandelion head. Great little baby donkey although after having had two donkey I never could wish for another one.
